Up in the woods
there’s the rusting hood of a VW bug.

My parents used it as an equipment sledge,
and now it’s a red cup for moss,
a decaying bed for mushrooms,

an illustration from a German picture book
about the life cycle of the People’s Car.

  1. Watching Kay and Jerri playing Canasta makes me smile
    …and yet I’m sad
Fresh chicken soup followed by a slice of an amazing fruit torte
…but still no joy in Mudville
A loud movie on the big-screen thrills and entertains the senses
…all of this and the air is filled with melancholy
Because we are three without Jane for the holidays

    We miss you Kid!
